2025 FRIENDS OF TODAY'S MUSIC:
FIRST LIGHT
Selected as the featured composer for the MTAC "Friends of Today’s Music" program in 2025, Justin Levitt was honored with the opportunity to collaborate with three exceptionally talented students, each dedicated to learning his newly commissioned composition. The students participated in a group Zoom session led by the composer, followed by a rehearsal held an hour before the performance. Each student delivered a beautiful interpretation of the music, expressing their unique artistry. The experience was remarkable and meaningful for all participants.

During a time when the world faced many challenges, Justin Levitt and Manesh Judge came together to perform and share a piece of music meant to bring comfort and healing to hearts near and far. “Peace at Night,” originally composed by Justin Levitt for solo piano, was arranged in partnership with Manesh Judge, blending both their instruments and musical heritages—East and West.
